Is open hostel style to AT Hikers mid Feb to May 10. We service UNICOI and Dick's Creek Gaps.
From Unicoi: Please call at Blue Ridge Shelter for pick up shuttle to Cloud9. We are 12 miles from Unicoi. North or left towards Hiawassee 6 miles. At Stop go right and we are 6 miles on the right.
From Dick's Creek Gap: We are 1.5 miles left or west of the AT, at the Upper Hightower Trout Farm. Come down the drive with mailbox 7150 Canaan Drive. Hiawassee GA 30546.
Absolute ZERO drug tolerance and you must be 21 or older to consume, IN
MODERATION, alcoholic beverages or you will be asked to leave!
We are 1.5 miles Left or West of the AT,
at the Upper Hightower Trout Farm. Walk down drive
at mailboxes 7120/7150 Canaan Drive, Hiawassee GA.

Free Mail Box Drops: Please mail to (your name) + CLOUD9 at our address: 7150 Canaan Drive Hiawassee GA 30546-3703. Also print your last name on ALL sides of your box, a phone number, and ETA - Estimated DATE of Arrival on it. Only USPS PRIORITY MAIL can be forwarded at no cost. Unless you call us and provide forwarding information boxes not picked up within 7 days will be opened and contents made available to other hikers in our Hiker Trade Boxes. Other shipped boxes to be forwarded must be paid in advance by you before we will do so.
SHUTTLES: We are not able to provide any other shuttles in this area. You may call us for a referral.
Slack Packing from Unicoi: Is 16 miles back to Dick's Creek Gap. It is possible to do in one day without a pack. Please call for more info.
ZERO DAY: About the time you arrive at Dick's Creek Gap if not beforehand at Unicoi, it is time for a zero day. A complete day of mostly resting and no hiking miles. Cloud9 is the perfect place for this. Make sure you take a zero about once a week, especially while you are building your daily mileage with a heavy pack.
Parking: More secure than
street parking is allowed on our farm in our back field. However, we are
not responsible for damage or theft. You will keep your keys for
access to your vehicle at any time.
Friends and Family: Friends
and family of AT Hikers are also allowed at Cloud9 for
the same price as a Hiker, however, we do ask that Hikers have first dibs
regardless of arrival times.
New Dog policy for 2008:
Dogs are
allowed in the bunkhouse or treehouse $5 per night. Free with
camping or staying outside. All dogs must be well behaved and quiet. Dogs
owners must remain in control of their dog and behavior at all
times. Dog owners agree to be responsible for hair shed clean
up, damage to contents or any other hikers property, and all
other clean up. Dogs are not allowed in Cloud9. Kennels
and tie outs are available for your use.
